Users of the sewer system may not be aware that the wastewater treatment plant is not designed to remove pollutants that cannot be removed by gravity settling or which are not biodegradable over a short period of time.

Sometimes these chemicals can cause a danger to the staff members that operate and maintain your wastewater system.
To avoid causing a problem, substances such as these should be kept out of the sewer system and be disposed of properly. The periodic hazardous waste collection events held at the City’s Landfill are a perfect opportunity for proper disposal.
