On July 2, 2019 at approximately 4:07 AM, Lebanon Police Officers conducted a routine motor vehicle stop in West Lebanon. While speaking with the vehicle occupants, Officers detected the odor of marijuana, and the driver was found to be suspended.
The driver, William Cabey, age 28, of Springfield, MA, was questioned outside of the vehicle and found to be in possession of heroin. The front passenger, Brian Goodreau Jr., age 25, of Wilbraham, MA, was also found to be in possession of heroin.
During the investigation, it was learned that Cabey and Goodreau drove from Springfield, MA to Orleans, VT to pick up two other passengers. Hartford Police Department was contacted for a K9 sniff of the vehicle, and K9 Dozer alerted on the vehicle. It was ultimately seized pending a search warrant.
Cabey was charged with Driving After Suspension, a Violation, and Possession of Controlled Drugs, a Class B Felony. Goodreau was charged with Possession of Controlled Drugs, a Class B Felony. Both parties were released on personal recognizance bail with a Grafton County Superior Court date of July 22, 2019.
