1. How much does it cost to dispose of septage?

Septage disposal fees for residents of Lebanon are $91 per 1,000 gallons. For properties located outside of Lebanon the fee is $136 per 1,000 gallons. (Fees cover disposal at the Treatment Plant and do not include cost of hauling by a private hauler.)

2. What if I have questions about what can be put in the sewer system?

If you have questions about what can be put into the sewer system, please reference Chapter 136 of Lebanon City Code or contact Assistant Public Works Director Jay Cairelli via email at jay.cairelli@lebcity.com or by phone at 603-448-3112. Jay can also provide permit applications, if so requested.

3. What if I smell sewage odors or have an odor complaint?

If odors are detected during normal business hours, call the Public Works Administration at 603-448-3112 or the Wastewater Treatment Plant. Outside of normal business hours call Lebanon Police Dispatch (Fire Dispatch Center is 603-448-1212) and they will contact the appropriate person.

4. Can I dispose of my wastewater from my recreational vehicle (RV). What does it cost? What hours can I utilize the RV dump station?

RV wastewater can be disposed of at the Lebanon Wastewater Treatment Plant Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. - 3 p.m.: Weekends and holidays, 7 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. The cost is $34 per RV.

5. Do I need a permit to discharge industrial (non-domestic) wastewater? If so, how do I get a permit?

A permit must be obtained from the City of Lebanon before discharging industrial waste. Pleaserefer to Lebanon City Code Chapter 136, Article IV, for complete details. To obtain a permit you must submit an application to the Wastewater Treatment Plant Superintendent or Chief of Quality Assurance. You can download a copy of the application from our website or call the Lebanon Wastewater Plant at 603-298-5986 to request a copy. 

6. What are the Wastewater Treatment Plant hours of operations?

The Lebanon Wastewater Treatment Plant is open weekdays from 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

7. Where is the Wastewater Treatment Plant located?

The Treatment Plant is located just north of the junction of the Mascoma and Connecticut Rivers in West Lebanon, behind the Hannaford's grocery store. The address is:

8. Can I take a tour of the Wastewater Treatment Plant?

Yes. The Wastewater Treatment Plant staff will gladly provide an informational tour of the plant. Tours take from half an hour to an hour and a half, depending on the number and depth of questions. Group sizes range from one person to approximately 20, although more can be accommodated by splitting the group into smaller groups.
