1. Can I get the water in my home tested for lead?: The Lead and Copper Rule requires the water system to assist home owners in locating a laboratory to test their home for lead. The homeowner is responsible for proper sampling, submitting the sample to the laboratory, any and all costs associated with the analysis.

2. How often does the City test for lead and copper?: The State of New Hampshire department of Environmental Services has placed the City on a 3 year testing cycle. 30 samples are taken from an existing pool of 60 homes every 3 years.

3. I want to have my tap water tested, whom of local staff do I contact?: Contact the Water plant for guidance 603-448-2514 or email the department directly - email and other phone numbers can be found at the Water Treatment staff directory entry.

4. If I want to have my tap water tested, whom of state staff do I contact?: Contact New Hampshire State Laboratory Services at 603-271-3445 you can also find their email and other contact information on their website.

5. Where do I find the current or past annual Water Quality Report?: The Lebanon Public Works Department posts its Water Quality Reports online. The most current report can always be found at LebanonNH.gov/WaterReport . To view previously published reports, please visit our Water Quality Report Archive.

6. I want to have my private well water tested, whom do I contact?: Call the Drinking Water Groundwater Bureau at 603-271-2513 or view the State of New Hampshire's private well testing laboratory list (PDF).

7. My water has a different taste / odor. Whom do I contact?: During normal business hours contact The Water Operations Staff or Water Superintendent by telephone at 603-448-2514, otherwise after hours emergencies utilize the phone number 603-448-1212. 8. How do I schedule a tour of the Water Treatment Plant?: Contact the Water Superintendent at 603-448-2514 or find his email and other contact information at his staff directory entry.

9. Is Lebanon and West Lebanon water fluoridated?: Yes, the City, as requested by popular vote, begin feeding Fluoride on November 9th 1956. The CDC and DHHS recommend a residual level of 0.7 milligrams per liter with a tolerance of +/- 0.1 milligrams per liter.

10. Whom do I call when I see a brook or stream degradation?: Call the state Department of Environmental Services (DES) Watershed Management Bureau at 603-271-2457; after hours and weekends call 603-271-3636 and ask for the on-call person.
